“The kind of thing that makes a person a clown—that’s who I am. Growing up, I never really fit in anywhere. Everyone would ask, ‘Where’s your mom and dad?’ Having foster parents made you feel like a freak, basically. I used to have to fight every day in high school. People thought I was a wimp or a nerd. I guess you could say my whole life has been about otherness. That’s why I’m the clown.”
